We know our people are our greatest asset and we strive to recruit and retain the best talent. As we continue to develop our knowledge and expertise as a company, investment in staff is our number one priority. We encourage ambition and offer an extensive range of formal training and development programmes, outlined below, as well as bespoke opportunities to meet specific individual goals.
This provides our junior staff with the chance to obtain a degree in Quantity Surveying. Our schemes currently have 8 participants, with the smaller group size allowing for a more tailored, individual experience. We provide the opportunity for one day per week at either university or via distance learning. Either way, our trainees receive outstanding support and assistance from our staff.
We recognise that obtaining a Chartership is an important stage in a Quantity Surveyor’s career and we actively encourage and support our APC candidates. We have staff from both PQS and contracting backgrounds, a dispute and forensic expert team and a number of APC assessors who guide candidates through a detailed training programme that includes one-to-one sessions and mock assessments.
Our School of Excellence Forensic Expert Witness (FEW) Programme has been created to develop our FEW team. Workshops run by external professionals provide invaluable advice to help gain or improve the skills required to be an Expert Witness, including expert report writing, court room skills, cross examination, and civil law and procedures.
Our modern, open-plan offices mirror our belief in a collaborative and communicative workplace. It not only creates an approachable, friendly and sociable environment but also encourages teams to work together, promoting the sharing of skills and knowledge.
We promote inclusivity and encourage individuality so that every member of our team can thrive, both in and out of the workplace. We’ve created an environment that supports our employees, regardless of age, race, gender or background; we believe that a diverse workplace leads to diverse thinking.
We believe that a driven, enthusiastic and challenged team is the key to success. We’re proud of our exceptional employees and the high calibre of their work. Within this dynamic and exciting environment, our staff constantly strive to develop and succeed as part of the team.
The training I have received at Base Quantum is of a standard I have not previously experienced. The time, care and consideration that is put into the development of all staff is geared to allow growth, knowledge, and the achievement of an RICS Chartership. The wealth of knowledge within Base Quantum covers so many areas of the construction industry which leads to one thing: all of our staff gaining the right knowledge from the right people, allowing them to enhance their career.
